Labor 45 feat. Käthe & Bärbel in sonic space suits
A trip to the moon with Labor 45. audio performance with kat and barb in sonic space suits. Each suit consists of several handmade capacitors which are part of oscillator circuits.
Touching and pressing them changes their values and therefore the sound of the circuits. An additional control unit is fixed on the forearm and allows to make changes in the interrelation of the different circuits. All together is taking place in the Labor 45 live setup with Wolf on percussion and Niel on computers.
Labor 45 (Niel Mitra, Kat Petroschkat, Barbara Herold, Wolf Steiling) founded in november 2007 in the artist colony Domagkateliers of Munich, works and plays with interfaces and ways of conduction
in analog and digital worlds. This contents digital wiring in patches for interactive installations and sensor conducted performances as well as the experiment with simple electronic circuits, like Schmitt-Trigger oscillators or the work with solar modules. In live-performances the self-made electronic
units are used as instruments. In the chaotic structure of self-modulation sounds we search for harmony and rhythm with our screwdrivers. Further instruments which are used are bongo, berimbau, digeridoo, voice and the computer as processing tool for the sound collage.
